Clayton Keller's tips for 14U/16U players  
 
When asked if the American Development Model helped him become the player he is today, Arizona Coyotes forward Clayton Keller's response wasn't quite what we expected, but it wasn't exactly surprising, either. The ADM is basically all he's known, so to him, it's simply 'hockey.' And now, as Keller embarks on his second full season in the NHL, those things he learned within the ADM framework have helped shape him into one of the league's top young players.

  Q: What nutrition plan will help my teen athlete perform their best?

A: Just as the game has changed significantly over the years, so too has hockey nutrition. More specifically, the change has come in understanding the benefits of nutrition and how eating properly has helped players separate themselves from other hockey players with similar talent. Proper nutritional habits and recovery have also played a part in extending many hockey careers at the competitive level.

Growth
The 14U and 16U age groups can include players with a wide range of physical and mental maturity. On the physical side, players born on the same day can be physically +/- three years different in physical maturity. This can have a dramatic effect on performance.
